For my HBCU experience, I wanted to share my experience of being in the organization I was in and how that team helped me through my time at North Carolina A&T State University.
Aggie Livewire
My group was called Aggie Livewire. Our primary purpose was to provide support to the different sports at school by going to their games and cheering on the athletes.
I was always a very shy person and a loner majority of the time. Joining Aggie Livewire helped me to break out of that shell, and that also helped me with my classes because I got involved more.
Not just an Org but a Family
Aggie Livewire allowed me to meet so many different people and to develop some strong friendships that I still have today. Aggie Livewire became more than just an organization; it was a family.
We did so many things together that went beyond an organization on campus; we traveled together; we ate together in the cafeteria.
We supported each other in other things that we were doing outside of the organization, for example, some people would do modeling, and we would go together to their shows and support them.
We had some members who were in plays on campus, and we would go to watch them. We even had some members who joined fraternities and sororities, and we would support them at probate.
We celebrated birthdays together and were there for each other in our times of need whether it was a death in the family, finically, or with relationships that we have.
The memories that I have of Aggie Livewire will always be a part of me and the people I met and the friendships that I have will always mean so much to me.
I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to be a part of this organization that has impacted my life in so many ways and I know I will never find another organization like Aggie Livewire.
