My HBCU experience was amazing. -Quaniqua Miles

I learned so many things that I could never have imagined. The most important thing that I learned was who am I. I remember sitting in English class my freshman year listening to my professor tell us a story about her time as a young, African-American woman in the 60s.

She compared the times back then to today and made we realize that there’s not a big change like we all like to think. I remember sitting in my African American Women Writers class and being so amazed at the topics that we discussed because we never got that deep in high school.

#HBCUFriday -QMILES

I knew it was passion, to spread positivity and love of self to black people. Being at an HBCU helped me to see other black people doing great things and trying to better themselves and get further in life. Many people think that there’s no diversity at an HBCU, but I met so many different types of people.

I made so many memories with so many people and had some wonderful experiences. I so proud to be able to say that I graduated from the #1 HBCU in the nation. I will proudly rep my school and the HBCU experience because it’s one you can’t understand unless you go there.
