Rev. Gwendolyn Levister McNeill is a native of Henderson, North Carolina where she was educated in the Vance County Public School System. She graduated from Vance Senior High School and continued her education at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, graduating with a degree in English Education with a Minor in Speech Communication and a Concentration in Reading. She has taught in the several school systems including Warren, Vance, and Cumberland Counties. She was formerly employed as a Human Resource Development Instructor at Fayetteville Technical Community College where she taught the Career Planning and Employment Seminar classes and performed workshops on “Finding Your Perfect Career” and ‘The Resume Fix.’

Currently, Rev. McNeill is the Lead Professional/Out-Patient Therapist at Precious Haven, Inc. in Fayetteville, NC.

Rev. McNeill furthered her education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina receiving a Certification as a Reading Specialist for Middle Grades and at North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, North Carolina receiving Certification as a Middle Grades Specialist for grades 6-8.

She continued her educational pursuits at Troy and Webster Universities. Bragg Campus and later received her Masters of Arts in Counseling with emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Webster University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She pursued her Doctoral Degree in Education/Supervision in Counseling at Argosy University in Atlanta, GA. Her ultimate goal is to seek and obtain a Master’s of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Institute in Wilberforce, Ohio.

Rev. McNeill is an Ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She currently pastors at Mt. Pleasant AME Church in Rowland, NC. She is a member of the Women In Ministry where she serves as the Chaplain for the North Carolina Conference WIM. She is also an instructor on the Board of Examiners for the Southern District of the North Carolina Conference.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Beauty for Ashes Foundation, and she is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.  Rev. McNeill is a motivational speaker for community and church organizations and is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the State of North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselors’ Board. Rev. McNeill also has a National Board Counselor Certification (NBCC).  She is also a certified Cumberland County Court Mediator. Rev. McNeill is dedicated to helping others in their pursuit to understand themselves, to accept God’s unconditional love for them and to assist them in maximizing their faith through study and action.

Rev. McNeill has been married to Mr. Anthony G. McNeill for 27 years and is the mother of three, Malcolm, 31 (Sophia), Tia, 25 and Winston, 22. She has two grand boys, twins William and Walter Sneed (2).

Rev. McNeill believes that words are powerful and that everyone can be healed with and restored by the right word at the right time. It is her greatest desire to use her spoken words to help others become their best selves through the wisdom of the Bible and belief in its practical application in our daily lives.
