Indigo Metellus was born in Los Angeles, Ca. She is a wife, daughter, sister and most importantly the child of the most high…God. Indigo began going to Full Gospel Community Prayer Center at the tender age of 7.
Growing up in a household with both parents serving the Lord and being the eldest of 4 girls. She sometimes found herself being and doing things alone. So when God told her major of her life she would walk alone, she felt as if it meant she would never get married until God, and her mother spoke to her. Letting her know that
- She WOULD get married
- You can still be alone even with people around.
Once Indigo got into her 20s, she felt the pull of dating life. Eagerly engaging into the dating lifestyle and putting God into a box. Most of her 20’s gone to two failed relationships, a path of dating failure. Indigo found herself at a crossroads.
She was asked by her mother one day “Why are you searching for love? Your father and I gave you so much love. I don’t understand what you’re looking for. Indigo was unable to answer this because she didn’t realize that she was in pursuit of love. She just wanted to get married.
It was until Indigo had turned her back on God and had a horrifying experience with the LAPD in 2009 that in that moment when her life flashed before her eyes. The Lord spoke to her Letting her know that her behavior had led to that death-defying, that she changed her life understanding first hand why her life mattered.
Turning her life over, committing to serve God in whatever capacity God wanted to use her. After completing her AA at Los Angeles Southwest Community College. God opened up the door for Indigo to obtained her B.S. degree in Accounting from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
During her time there she realizes that God has a heart for young people and that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1. A few months into her 1st year at A&T she began dating her now husband. Knowing that he was the man she was going to married because God told her before she left Los Angeles that he had a mate for her, and would know him when she saw him. So she knew.
During their courtship and learning to serve God through this relationship for the 1st time tested Indigo faith. Seeing other young women and men on Facebook getting married. Show her how stressful it can be when your desire is so strong to be married. Until God told her in her senior year to let go of the man she been dating for four years. By letting him go, she was showing God that she trusted in God to have his will whatever way he wanted it.
God show Indigo that because she believes and trusted him with her whole heart and let go of not only the man she knew she wanted to marry but the desire to get marry and focused on God and herself that God will and can do the work. Returning his promise to her a month later She was engaged to the Man of her heart and dreams.
Once becoming a wife in 2014, Indigo saw the pain, hurt, and turmoil of the dating world with clear eyes. Reading social media she began to find her gift again for writing, but this time using it for God’s will uplifting his people. Especially individuals who are dating and ready to be married. Through this gift, she has created her Brand. Which has ushered her into her purpose and her passion Encouragement for God’s people through the word of God.
