Most people are familiar with Speed dating. But not Blind Folded Speed Dating. You think of yourself going down to the event and hopeful meeting someone great without seeing them and only relying on the sound of their voice, seems a little scary because we are visual people. But that has been your problem picking men base off what they look like and not what they have to offer inside of them. 

You tell your friends about the event and one of your closest friends who you would have never thought of trying speed dating tells you that she has and that in fact, it can be a successful way to meet new people and garner prospective dates.
Then you build up the courage with a group of your close girlfriends and you really show up. You’re at the blindfolded speed dating event mixer. Not really sure what you just step into. You’re ready to try something new and exciting. Yes you’re really about to go on a bunch of 5min dates blindfold with men you might not even thought about dating in your life.

But your game right? Everyone in the room mingling seems like they are having a great time and just as nervous as you are.  You think to yourself that someone in the room could be potential mate or at least an interesting conversationalist.

You look at all the men in the room trying to listen to their voices so that you can picture them in your mind so that you can image them while you’re on your blindfolded speed date. In between there looking back at you doing the same exchanging stolen glances here and there. Checking out their skin, their clothes, their smiles. Their feet.

Then it’s show time.  Each person is handed a blindfold. The women have seated blindfolds are on and the rules are explained. The women sit and remain seated for the duration of the speed-dating event. When a bell sounds the men are each sit across from a woman moving to the next. You’re told you only have a set amount of time to converse with each other.
You feel your nerves trying to get the best of you then you remember your wing woman is with you and she is able to see who you talked too. You give her the signal if you like someone so that she can keep track and point him out once you’re able to see.

Each new date your confidence it’s getting stronger. You forget that you can see them because you’re listening to what they are saying rather than looking to see how fine they are.  Your feeling yourself. Conversation with each date is getting easier. You’re not putting so much stress on the date because your letting things become nature. You find that you’re really enjoying yourself. Then time is up.

Blindfolds are off and it’s time to meet up with your wing woman. She gives you’re the deets are what she  saw and how your body language was while talking to each date she could remember. She tells you that she could really see the chemistry between you and one guy.

That you both were enjoying yourself. She points him out and you realize he is someone that you would never had been open to dating or even talking to if you would had seen him.

You even realize that you didn’t even see him when you first walked into the room at the beginning of the event but you’re intrigued. You want to hear his voice again to make sure your wing woman isn’t mistaking him with date 4 that you really enjoyed talking to because you thought in your mind he would be someone else you scoped out before the speed dating started.

So while the scorecards are being matched up with your prospective you notice that the guy your friend pointed out is at the refreshment table making himself a plate of goodie that is provided by the event you casually walk over to the table as well striking up a conversation with the guy about the treats on the table and you hear his voice.
