Taking over TORONTO Canada: Planning Travel

20160408_114219So this is way overdue. Back in April my family and I traveled to Canada.

 Travelling to Canada Day 1

In preparation to Canada, I had to think of the crew I wanted to be with me for a four day and night adventure.

  1. I knew I wanted people that could pay their way, that had jobs just in case I needed to fund them and they could pay me back.
  2. I wanted people that I wouldn’t have to worry about getting into any fights while we were across the border from the United States.
  3. People that had or could get their passports quickly
  4. People I wanted to be around
  5. People that were down for fun.
  6. People that could help me find Drake “running through the 6.” (by the way we still looking)

So entered my family (My Husband, 3 sisters, 2-year-old niece and two family friends that are more like family than friends. I loved them, enjoy being around them and I don’t mind spending my money on them because I know they won’t mind spending theirs on me.

Assignments.

So being the oldest child I’m very protective and feel as if my sisters need me to do everything for them. (Which I’m learning they are grown and like to do things in their own manner) So I decide to give a few of us so task. So that the trip felt like it was a joint venture rather than an Indigo event.

  • My sister Rainey and Tia were in charge of getting events that everyone wanted to do while we were in Canada and finalize the itinerary along with getting and making the payments for those events.
  • I was in charge of looking for flights for the family members that were flying from Los Angeles, CA to Canada and for the Family members that were flying from Greenville, SC (Why SC it was cheaper for us NC folks to fly from there and closer to where we live than some of the North Carolina Airports)
    • While looking up the flights to Toronto, Canada I notice that they had 3 different airports. So make sure you MapQuest which airport is close to where you’re going to stay are else you could be doing a 30min to hour’s drive to the city you going to be in.
    • I also looked at factor to see if we didn’t rent a car could we caught their buses or train or walk to where ever we needed to go. Tia was also in charge of booking us a car because we had some events that took us out of Toronto.
      • Tip: Car rental is cheaper if you drive over to Canada due to the U.S. Liability insurance we have in the states.
        • If you do rent a car in Canada don’t rent the car at the Airport because it is very costly.
        • To use your insurance in Canada they want you to have at least 2 million dollars’ worth. (I know right)
  • I also was in charge of Lodging
    • I looked into renting a home or doing a B&B which by the way since cheaper and had great reviews from trip advisor. The only thing was that they were already booked during the time we were going to be there.
  • Everyone else was in charge of getting our dates off from work and being on time for.
